Scammers are actively posing as representatives of Maryland fire associations and departments to solicit donations via phone, often using caller ID spoofing to appear legitimate.

These fraudulent calls, sometimes falsely claiming affiliation with the Maryland State Firefighters Association or using names like "Volunteer Firefighters Association," are actually soliciting for political action committees or personal gain.

The Maryland State Firefighters Association is not and does not solicit funds by telephone, internet or mail.
