It is with deep sadness that the Glyndon Volunteer Fire Department announces the passing of Life Member Rick Cole, a dedicated and selfless servant of our department and community.

Rick joined the GVFD in December 1968 and devoted more than five decades to the department. His commitment, leadership, and steady presence shaped GVFD in countless ways and left a lasting impact on generations of members.

Rick held an administrative office for nearly his entire tenure, with the exception of 1972–1975, when he proudly served our country in the United States Navy, and 1979. He served on the Board of Directors three times and spent many years as either Corresponding Secretary or Recording Secretary, always ensuring the department ran with professionalism and integrity.

We are forever grateful for Rick’s unwavering dedication, leadership, and love for GVFD. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of serving alongside him.

Rest easy, Rick. Your legacy will always be part of GVFD.
